Jared Call, Pickleball Director

Jared Call, Pickleball Director

Jared was a top 60 Pro before his season ended early due to injuries. As a player he understands the desire to improve and realize your potential - as a coach he cherishes the satisfaction and fulfillment that comes along with watching a struggling student finally hit their first aggressive dink or master that tricky third shot drop. Jared has been playing pickleball for four years and teaching privately for the last three years. In college he received a scholarship to play basketball, was a sponsored skateboarder, a 2x national champion with ASU’s Wakeboarding team, and was also a snowboard pro at Beaver Mt, UT. and later made the USU cheer team. He attended grad school in Canada (MUN) studying, theology, philosophy, and religion – and he also made the school’s tennis team.

In addition to teaching pickleball, Jared is also a part-time Philosophy Professor (TOCC). He loves combining his philosophical training to further investigate the nature and essence of playing Pickleball! He believes that sport is vital to personal growth. Sport teaches us – even compels us – to learn things like humility, loss, dedication, sacrifice, teamwork, and of course, the virtue of victory. It is his philosophy that pickleball is the perfect catalyst to propel one’s own personal growth. He believes that if you can walk off the court at the end of the day with a sense of dignity and self-confidence, then you have attained something far more beneficial than a medal – though, it isn’t a vice to have a collection of medals!
